Membership Information
Membership of the Association is open to all disciplines of health professionals interested in the management of wounds.
AWMA(SA) Membership 2012
Important information for all members or those considering membership of AWMA(SA).
Changes to the AWMA structure mean that the membership renewal period will be changed

Current members
To bring AWMA(SA) in line with the new membership period your current membership has been extended until 30 June 2012.
AWMA(SA) is covering the cost of membership from 1 January to 30 June 2012 for each current member.
Therefore no payment is required at present. Your membership period has been automatically extended.
This covers all membership designations.
You will continue to receive all the benefits of AWMA(SA) membership until 30 June 2012.
Members joined at AWMA(SA) seminar August 2011
Members who joined at the AWMA(SA) seminar in August 2011 received membership until December 2012.
To bring AWMA(SA) in line with the new membership period your current membership has been extended until 30 June 2013.
AWMA(SA) is covering the cost of membership from 1 January 2013 to 30 June 2013 for members who joined at the 2011 AWMA(SA) seminar. Your membership period has been automatically extended.
You will continue to receive all the benefits of AWMA(SA) membership until 30 June 2013.
New members
New members joining after 1 January 2012 will receive membership until 30 June 2012 at a pro rata rate.
This covers all membership designations.
Membership renewal 2012
AWMA has appointed a national Membership Secretary to manage memberships across all state and territory Wound Management Associations.
You will be contacted in June 2012 regarding annual membership renewal.

Philosophy of the Association
We, (AWMA(SA) Inc.) believe that all people with a wound are entitled to receive wound management that reflects their individual needs.
The Objectives of the Association are to promote and increase awareness of wound management by:-
- Ensuring a strong governance framework
- Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with health professionals, professional bodies and key organisations/groups
- Promoting contemporary wound management
- Promoting evidence based practice, education and research
- Providing a forum for the dissemination of information to health professionals
There are three main categories of AWMA(SA) membership
- Full (individual)
- Organisation
- Corporate (Trade)
Prospective members are encouraged to read the Full Terms and Conditions of AWMA(SA) membership prior to application.
Full (individual) membership of AWMA(SA) entitles you to the following benefits:-
- Free entry to the quarterly education meetings.
- Receipt of the quarterly 'Wound Wisdom' newsletter and notification of education meetings.
- Automatic membership of the Australian Wound Management Association.
- Receipt of the quarterly 'Wound Practice and Research' national journal.
- Access to other health professionals with an interest in, and knowledge of, wound management practices.
- Voting rights at the general meetings of the Association, which are held at the beginning of each education meeting.
